Many liquid or paste products, after packaging, may experience pressure differences between the inside and outside due to various reasons, leading to the phenomenon of "bottle swelling" (bulging) or "hollowing out" (internal suction) in the container. Breathable liners are designed to solve this problem.
The three main sources of pressure difference:
1. Product degassing
Some products (such as organic fertilizers, fermented products, and some cosmetics) will continue to release gas, causing the pressure inside the bottle to rise and the container to swell.
2. Oxygen elimination
Some products consume oxygen inside the bottle, resulting in a decrease in internal pressure and container shrinkage.
3. Environmental changes
Changes in temperature or altitude can cause changes in gas pressure, thereby altering the pressure difference inside and outside the container.
How can breathable liners achieve both waterproofing and breathability?
The answer is hidden in that ePTFE breathable membrane. It achieves bidirectional ventilation while blocking liquid flow through a microporous structure (pore size smaller than liquid molecules but larger than gas molecules).
